Using stainless or alloy instead of steel lightens and brightens your Triumph (as well as being significantly more corrosion resistant).
 
Modern and relatively cheap metal folding and lazer cutting equipment means many items can be fitted in stainless or alloy where the factory only really had the choice of steel due to budgetary constraints. As we all know, Triumph was in the business of mass-producing cars not the business of producing the best cars they could.
